That is one of my favorite moments of the day during the week. No matter if Christopher is engrossed in playing with a toy (or being a “toy-nado!”) or if he is being fussy and cranky and clinging to me. At 2:30pm, I check the clock and say,
“Chris, it’s time to go get Leah!”
He stops dead in whatever he is doing, grins from ear to ear saying, “Hehe!” and runs over to hand me his shoes. We get into the car (it’s cold out!) and head up to the bus stop, where he eagerly and impatiently waits his big sister’s arrival. When she gets in next to him, his face lights up, and hers does, too.
It melts my hear. Every. Single. Time.
